Norman Adams did all the Ngaio Marsh Paperback Covers for two of her publications. Each publication with a different image. Dark Background image above is sketch and the right is the illustration.

Most illustrators paint large images so that when they are reduced they look good. Norman Adam’s images have so much life-detail (above left) that they lose a lot of their Magic Realism when they are reduced for publication (above with type). Why waste the time? It’s an addiction: Creativity is its own Reward... the more life-punch in the painting the more Reward.  The Story
